Why build an RC Track? • A dedicated RC track does not exists within the Corvallis city area. • Driving RC vehicles in BMX parks and other public spaces can cause conflicts between users. • The lack of a dedicated RC track discourages people from entering the hobby.
Proposed RC track location. Proposed location would share the same space as the current RC airfield. Blue shaded are indicates the overall proposed space. Orange is the proposed track location. Yellow is the driver stand for the track. Purple would be the work table area. Blue shaded area: 685’ x 197’ Orange track: 200’ x 110’

Noise Concerns • Electric RC vehicles tend to be very quiet making as much noise as a box fan. • Nitro/Gas powered RC vehicles can potentially be much louder. • ROAR rules (9.2.4.4) nitro engines cannot exceed 85 decibels at 33’. Lawnmower engines are about 90 decibels. • Most nitro engines running at 50% throttle produce about 85-100 dB at source. • Using the proposed track location. The track is approximately 100’ from the road. • To the south the distance is about 136’ to the far side of the road. To the east the distance is about 205’ to the far side of the road.
