2. History In 1905 Alfred Binet invented the first modern intelligence test.
The test was designed to identify special education needs for Paris school children
3. Binet-Simon Scale Scale was the foundation for the SB-5 that is used today.
The original 1905 scale had 30 tests
Tests ranged from simple sensory tasks to complex verbal abstractions.
Ex: Grasps a small object which is touched
Defines abstract words by designating the difference between “boredom and weariness”
