Principles Shaping Our Development Agenda • Maximize instructional time. • Establish reasonable testing times. • Provide transparent connections between ACT’s College Readiness Standards and the Common Core State Standards. • Leverage technology: enhance student engagement, produce more meaningful results, and share results in a timely fashion. • Increase the emphasis on evidence-centered design. • Include science as a critical content area. • Reflect the reality that there are multiple dimensions of readiness and success (validated by research)

  6. Milestones • 13 states tested all of their students with the ACT in the 13-14 school year. • 6 more states will join for the 14-15 school yr • The ACT was administered online for the first time in Spring 2014—4,000 students tested. • 1 million ACT Aspire tests were taken in Spring 2014

  13. FL 2014 Grad Class Report • 129,676 students in 2014 Grad Class took The ACT. • Access: • 38% overall increase in ACT-tested graduates in LA since 2010. • 27% of Louisiana’s ACT-tested graduates were first-generation students whose parents did not enroll in postsecondary education.
