  4. The Ohio State Curriculum General Education Curriculum (GEC): • Skills: A. Writing and Related Skills • Expected Learning Outcomes: 1. Students apply basic skills in expository writing. 2. Students demonstrate critical thinking through written and oral expression. 3. Students retrieve and use written information analytically and effectively.

  5. Overview of OSUL instructional program • Course integrated, in-person where possible • Online, on-demand learning objects --net.TUTOR and movies • Online programs (Make the Leap) • Online credit courses

  6. Instructional Opportunities • The majority of new students need more development of these research skills: • Formulating good research questions • Using advanced or power search effectively • Evaluating sources and detecting bias • Providing this foundation will help students succeed in almost any college course.
