Physical Fitness is made up of 5 Components….they are; • Body Composition • Muscular Strength • Flexibility • Muscular Endurance • Heart and Lung Endurance
BODY COMPOSITION • Body Composition is used to describe the percentages of fat, bone, and muscle in the human bodies
Muscular Strength • Muscular strength is most simply defined as the ability to produce muscular force
Flexibility • Flexibility is defined as the range of motion of a joint
Muscular Endurance • Muscular Endurance is the ability of a muscle group or muscles to sustain repeated contractions against a resistance for an extended period of time
Heart and Lung Endurance • Heart and Lung is the measure of how effectively you can do an activity that requires increased oxygen
Examples of Muscle Strength and Endurance Activities are; • Lifting Weights • Jogging • Bicycling • Crunches • Push-Ups
Examples of Flexibility are; • Stretching • Sit and Reach • Calf raises • Hamstring stretch • Quad Stretch • Trunk Flex
Examples of Heart and Lung Endurance are • Jogging • Bicycling • Jump Roping • *ANYTHING THAT YOU PERFORM FOR 15 MINUTES OR MORE THAT MAKES YOUR HEART RATE INCREASE SIGNIFICANTLY
