  3. Mission “City Lights Theater performs both classic and contemporary plays aimed at a broad audience in the New York Metropolitan area. The company promotes innovative production designs, experimental directing methods, and local acting talent.”

  4. History Established in 1987 with a grant from New York City University First home was a 50-seat theater in a small warehouse in Soho In 1995, moved to its current home in the 500-seat Chelsea Civic Theater
