Numbering scheme for releases • Similar to Linux kernel • <major>.<minor>.<bug-fix/patch> • <minor> : even = production, odd = development • affects links in <release> subdirs only • pointing to the relevant bug-fix releases of the packages • should be more flexible for users • expect changes on timescales of weeks • HEP specific part only LHC++ meeting
