Fairview Developmental Center Volunteering Opportunity in Costa Mesa A long-term residential care facility for developmentally disabled individuals Volunteers would: attend supervised outings with the “clients”, assist with professional development, do arts and crafts, play sports and other games with the clients

  4. OC Animal Care OC Animal Care will provide training to all volunteers. Volunteers are required to complete training for each position in which they are selected to serve. Mental Health Association (MHA) of Orange County – Mentor Program Project Together Mentor Program: children, youth, & families receiving mental health treatment Build supportive relationships and life skills Training and working closely with a therapist Activities: walk on the beach, hiking, arts & crafts, going to the park, etc. Requirements: 21+, CA license, insurance, OC resident, background check, CA resident of 12 mo. Time commitment: 6-8 months Website/Mentor Application

  13. WHAT IS ORANGEWOOD CHILDREN’S FOUNDATION? Began over 30 years ago with a vision to build a facility to shelter Orange County children who were the victims of abuse, neglect and abandonment. Temporary home for foster children who are not yet permanently placed in a home. Focus is on the ongoing needs of children in the foster care system, developing a wide range of activities, scholarships, support and programs to give every child every chance to succeed.

  14. HOW TO GET INVOLVED Involves working with youth ages 14-22 or planning events. Weekday Opportunities: - Provide clerical support at the OCF office. - Cook at the Orangewood Café for youth from foster care who may be homeless or unemployed. - Expose students to extra-curricular activities or help them with their studies.   24. Sexual Assault Victim & Prevention Services • Sexual assault volunteer crisis counselor - provides assistance and counseling via the 24 hotline or emergency response at the hospital when victims receive a forensic exam • 48 hour certification training • July 2014
