Legal Corps – Paralegal Soldiers/NCOs • NCOs who have basic law qualifications • Some have diplomas and certificates from universities and some have law degrees and some are qualified lawyers • Qualified lawyers review summary trials and courts-martial and can defend accused in a court-martial • Others draft charges, agreements, and contracts • Serve as stenographers during court-martial proceedings and transcribe proceedings • Arrange courtroom and manage witnesses • Safeguard court materials and evidence • Francophone NCO takes notes during trial for the judge • FNCO takes notes during the investigation
