Improving Performance • The aim of any serious performer is to improve performance. • Why? • To achieve a goal or target that has been set either by yourself or by a teacher or coach, e.g. Learning a new skill; improving a skill or technique to be more effective in an activity. • How? • In order to develop your performance effectively you must: • Consider the demands/requirements of your activity • Form a clear impression of your current levels of skill and fitness. • Identify your strengths and development needs in the activity. • What for?To make training specific and appropriate for your levels of skill & fitness.
Understanding how to apply the Cycle of Analysis - The Process • Before you can tackle NAB Part 1, you must be able to answer these questions: • How have you assessed or evaluated your current level of badminton performance (i) in general and (ii) more specifically? • What do you need to work on first to improve your badminton performance? • How will you assess/evaluate if you have made any improvement?
