Geography - Travel Redefinition Explore the location using Google Earth to promote the viability of the location as a tourist destination. Include interviews with residents or people who have visited the location and data from social networking sites to validate claims. Substitution Word processing or presentation for your destination Augmentation Design a travel brochure or guide for your chosen country using MS brochure that incorporates ability to hyperlink and embed content. Questions to Ask for Enhancement Using Technology • Substitution - tech acts as a substitute • What will I gain by replacing the older technology with the new technology? • Augmentation – tech adds functional improvement • Have I added an improvement to the task process that could not be accomplished with the older technology at a fundamental level?
Questions to Ask for Transformation Using Technology • Modification – significant task redesign • How does this modification contribute to my task? • Redefinition – creation of new tasks previously inconceivable • How is the new task uniquely made possible by the new technology?
