FICTION • NON-FICTION • BIOGRAPHY • POETRY • INFORMATIONAL BOOKS • PICTURE BOOKS
FICTION • REALISTIC • HISTORICAL • FANTASY • SCIENCE FICTION • MYSTERY
REALISTIC FICTION • A fiction story that has believable characters in a real life modern day situation with a plot that could actually happen.
HISTORICAL FICTION • Takes place in a true time of the past • Some details of the past are accurate • It may have real people from that time but also make believe characters • The story may be based on a real event, with many true details, but has been embellished or fictionalized
FANTASY • A fiction story that is NOT realistic and contains elements of magic or mystical qualities. Ex: talking animals, fairies, wizards
SCIENCE FICTION • A fiction story that often includes futuristic technology within a blend of science fact and fiction.
MYSTERIES • An exciting plot • An element of suspense • Clues are given (some to help, some to lead you in a different direction)
