Who is using UBL? • We don’t know! • UBL has been adopted for invoicing by the governments of Denmark and Sweden. • 15 UBL 2.0 document types planned for adoption by the UK government’s Zanzibar marketplace. • The UBL Certificate of Origin is being used by Pan Asia Alliance. • In the U.S., pieces of UBL are being used by the U.S. Navy the U.S. IRS (the federal taxation agency) and UBL will be used in a pilot project by the Dept. of Transport.
Why UBL into CEFACT? • Collaboration on the delivery of a common set of eBusiness document standards, built on a common library of core components and using common process models. • UBL 1.0 is an OASIS standard. • UBL aims to be an ISO standard. • UBL has an invitation to bring the UBL activity into UN/CEFACT. • There is a plan in which… • UBL 2.0 will be reviewed by PGs (working this week) • Recommendations for improvements • Based on the results of these reviews UN/CEFACT will determine how to recognize UBL 2.0 as an external specification following its approval as an OASIS Standard. • To start collaboration a common set of eBusiness document standards, built on a common library of core components and using common process models.
