Conclusions • ICS is a standardized management system, representing organizational “best practices,” and is the standard for emergency management • There are 14 principles that form the bedrock of ICS • There is the Incident Command, 3 other command staff positions (when needed), and 4 other management functions (when needed) • The General Staff takes care of the 4 other management functions • It is important to maintain span of control • Unified Command is imperative to ICS
