Practicing Using Edmodo:1. Post a note on our Edmodo group page, answering the following question: Have you read The Adventures of Tom Sawyer before? If yes, did you like it? Why or why not? If no, what have you heard about the novel?
Today’s Directions: • After reading chapters one and two, pick two of the following questions to answer on our Tom Sawyer Discussion Edmodo page. • What is a good character trait for Tom Sawyer? Why? • How is the setting of this novel different from the setting of your life? What would one pro and one con be to live in St. Petersburg in 1836? • Do you think Tom Sawyer was wrong to trick the boys into whitewashing the fence for him? Why or why not? • Make sure you post a new note for each answer, and make sure your answers are in complete sentences. • After you have answered two questions, comment on as many classmate’s answers as you can, saying whether you agree with his/her thoughts or not and why.
Closure: How did Edmodo help you discuss the first chapter of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer? Did you like posting your answers rather than discussing aloud? Why or why not?
