Epidemiology • 250-300 new cases pr. year • Constant during 10 years • 70% men, <50% ethnic Danes • MSM transmission in Denmark • Hetero-sexual transmission in immigrants • Cohort of 4.500 gets older! • More co-morbidities • Danish national patient register/CPR register • Danish HIV cohort database • 6000 pts, VL, CD4, ART regimens • E.g. • HellebergM, Clin Infect Dis. 2013 Jul;57(2):314-21. doi: 10.1093/cid/cit232. Youth group • Background • The kids were lonely and sad • Tabus and personal problems • Time at diagnose – traumatic event • Outpatients clinic • Lifelong treatment • Adherence • Living with the disease as a secret • Anxiety- stress – depression • Sexually transmitted disease/Control your sex life • Members • 15 - 25 years of age • Majority with another ethnic background than Danish • Heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual • Born with HIV or infected in youth

Activities youth group • Weekend tour /Youth day at outpatients • Education • Activities • walk, paint, sessions with guest instructors aso. • Socialising/Informal talks with friends and adults • Confidentiality • Blood tests and consultations • Adherence improve • Others take same medication • If adherent no need for regular consultations
