A Well Planned Newsletter will: • Be attractive and easy to read • Use graphics and other desktop publishing features to attract readers’ attention.
Standard Elements/Parts of a Newsletter • Nameplate/masthead • Date line • Headline • Body Text • Credits
Nameplate/Masthead • Section located on the first page giving the name of the newsletter, organization and possible logo. It may sometimes include a tagline.
Date line • Line under the nameplate that includes the volume number, issue number, and the date of publication.
Headline • Large-type title stating the subject of an article (sometimes lists the byline).
Credits Body Text • The information in an article • A list of the names and locations of the newsletters staff.
