  2. Background • Two sessions are based on the research activities of the Urban Environmental Management Project of IGES during the third phase research (year 2004-2007) • Goal of UE Project is to contribute towards the better management of the urban Environment

  3. Focus of the project • Transport is chosen as one of the most important urban issues • To alleviate financial limitations, to transfer technology, and to address urgent concerns regarding long term global issues Explore ways of linking GHG mitigation concerns to local environmental management in Asian cities

  4. Key Research Question What are the strategic factors that impede or facilitate the implementation of GHG friendly air pollution control measures
