  2. Who • The Taj Mahal was built by an emperor called Shah Jahan emperor Shah Jahan.

  3. What • The Taj Mahal was a palace for the emperors wife Mumtaz Mahal. It was made out of white marble.

  4. When • It was under construction from 1632 to 1648. That’s over 350 years ago.

  5. Where • The Taj Mahal was built in Agra which is in north India, as you can see on the map.

  6. Why • The Taj Mahal was built for the emperors wife because she died the year before and her husband made it for her for a memory. • It is now one of the wonders of the world

  7. How • It took over 20,000 workers to build it, they were taken from all over the world to build it.

  8. Extra • The emperor blinded the chief architect and cut his hands of to make sure he would never design anything as beautiful ever again.
