Compliance • We believe strongly that a higher level of compliance equals to a higher state of safety. But: • compliance is binary • non compliance vary considerably in safety impact. • Collecting key data is essential
Propane • Objective is to assist in every way possible to help operators through a fairly complex process. • Disproportionate amount of effort and expense incurred on propane. • Only jurisdiction where the license is specifically conditional on receipt of paperwork, rather than approval of the submittal. • Supportive of ways to gain efficiencies through better operational practices, e.g. RIDM
Solid Incident Response Plan • Well developed incident response plan. • Tested regularly internally • Tested externally every couple of years • Includes a full “table top” exercise that includes Ministry touch points.
What does the future hold? • Fully exploit the investment in the new IS system. • Provide tools to inspectors to perform the work quicker. • Centralize the planning and scheduling function. • Improve connectivity.
