  2. What is hot Yoga? • A style of yoga typically performed in a hot room, usually Bikram • It is usually associated with the style invented by BikramChoudhur. • Yoga:asystem of exercises for attaining bodily or mental control and well-being

  3. Why do hot yoga? • Helps with Flexibility • Strengthens your body • Releases Toxins • Can help with old injuries • Hot Yoga can also reduce symptoms of conditions and illnesses including diabetes, asthma, high blood pressure, arthritis and obesity.

  4. How to Prepare for hot yoga • Drink plenty of water before taking a class • Bring a water bottle or two • Bring a small towel to wipe off excess sweat • Try to bring a yoga mat, some places will let you rent one • Bring a yoga towel that will go on top of yoga mat (a regular towel will not grip to the yoga mat the way a yoga towel will)

  5. Mental Benefits Hot yoga is know to reduce depression, balancing emotions, stress, and anxiety. It also keeps the body young and healthy!

  6. Hot yoga vs. Regular Yoga Hot yoga Regular Yoga lung expansion ranges from 35% - 40% of total capacity Burns up to 30% less calories than hot • Lung expansion is about 50% • 500 to 1000 calories burned • Can sometimes be more difficult because of temperature
