  1. Subject and Stressed Object Pronouns • Most of the time, we don’t use subject pronouns. • They should be used for: • Emphasis • Yo le di el regalo. (I gave her the gift.) • To make a comparison or clarify a sentence • El tiene buenas notas, pero ella tiene malas notas. (He has good grades, but she has bad grades.)

  2. Use the phrase “a + subject pronoun” to clarify who the object of the preposition is. • El profesor les dio el reportaje. (Who is “les?”) • El profesor les dio el reportaje a ellos.
