My Focus – 2012Means to end • Haymarket/HSC Master Plan • To Do: $200 M capital expenditure • Bond Financing - $350 M in bank for next president • Why: Critical fund source for HSC master plan education/research/clinical • Critical externality – VA • Needed Partners: State/Mayor/Private Developers

  16. My Focus - 2012 Shelby Campus – a positive cash flow from a lease To Do: A building (in addition to BSL3) Why: Acceptance by the university of the master plan and the concept of taking a non-performing asset to performing asset New: $ for education/research mission Ruling as Budget Director

My Focus - 2012 • Belknap • Finalizing a viable, meaningful master plan that provides growth in academic space • and a vibrant campus where best students want to come/live/study, with Kentucky • Trailer property as a viable part of the campus with exploration of generating cash • flow • To Do: Master Plan with realistic pro forma • Why: Commitment to educational excellence – HB1 • Recruitment of students • Student life/engagement • Academic space • Research space

My Focus - 2012 A plan in place for a viable hospital and vibrant clinic that can continue to support “above” and “below” the line money for the academic mission of the University of Louisville To Do: Continued efforts to build clinical programs (ULH) accepted in the medical community that is supportive of the academic and research mission of the University of Louisville Involves: PPP/ULH/Partners

  19. My Focus - 2012 • A continued effort to foster a culture of quality and • excellence • To Do: Why not the best? • A culture committed to excellence and moving the university forward in a tough fiscal environment • Graduation rate > 50%
