Things to Know Attendance Policies • Your parent/guardian should call the Attendance Office first thing in the morning if you will be absent. • A written note signed by your parent/guardian should be submitted upon your return. If a note is not received within 3 days the absence is recorded as UNEXCUSED. • Notes should include: • Student’s full name • Student’s ID number • Date(s) of absence • Parent/guardian signature • Daytime phone # for parent/guardian
Things to Know Making Up Missed Work • In general, teachers will allow students as many days to make up missed work as the number of days the student was legally absent. Students should contact a friend when absent or see the individual teacher for assignments following a brief absence. • For extended illness, parents should contact the Counseling Office.
Things to Know Unexcused Absences • 3 unexcused tardies = 1 unexcused absence • 3 unexcused absences = Loss of Credit (LC) warning • 5 unexcused absences = LC Students should see their administrator regarding an appeal in the event of an LC.
A = 4.0 B = 3.0 C = 2.0 D = 1.0 E = 0.0 For each of your classes, determine the points for the grade you received. Add up the points for all of your classes. Divide the total by the number of classes. That’s your average! Things to Know Calculating Your Grade Average Note: You must earn a 2.0 in the most recent quarter and have no more than one E to be eligible to participate in extracurricular activities.
