Purpose • Compile existing circulation data • Organize data according to primary categories • Visualize circulation data by year and month • Observe changes in circulation patterns • Explore questions: Who, What , When, Where, Why and How?
Circ Data Set Categories • Happening Location: physical (virtual) location of circulation activity • CLIO Location: owning location of collections • Patron Group: classification of patron (undergrad, faculty, etc.) • Charge Type: variety of circulation activity • Date: FY and month of circulation activity
Questions to Explore • Who: patron group • What: CLIO location • When: date • Where: happening location • Why: [not so easy] • How: charge type
Patron Groups • GRD- Graduate Students • IND- Indefinite • OFF- Officers (Faculty) • REG- Undergraduates • VIS- Visitors

Comments on Charges • Decrease in charges • Stable • In phase with academic year, early bump for GRD
Comments on Charges • Large increase in charges by IND • No change for VIS • GRD with most charges, but steep decline • REG no longer most charges, 3rd behind IND and GRD
Comments on Renewals • Decrease in renewals • Accelerated decrease after FY07 • In phase with academic year
Comments on Renewals REG out of phase until Jan 08 Large decrease by REGs Somewhat smaller decrease by GRD OFF and REG were equal, now OFF much higher OFF now most renewals, was GRD before
