  2. Ms. Gomez’s Background • 1st year at Marine View Middle School • 3 years at Jammin’ Music and Arts • Undergrad: • Azusa Pacific University 2010-BA in Music Education • Credential: • University of Redlands 2013

Course Description & Goal Objectives • This full-year music class will: • Provide students with music and choreography skills • Provide students with vocal music techniques including breathing, posture, diction, sound production, music reading, and performance etiquette • Promote self-discipline, group cooperation, and school pride • Give opportunities to perform in different settings

  4. Grading & Homework Policy • Students are graded on: • Participation • Vocal Part Tests • Performance Attendance • Lower Grades result from: • Missing a performance (with the exception of family emergency or illness by phone call) • Excessive talking during rehearsals and performances

  5. Expectations: Follow directions the first time given Be respectful and courteous to yourself and others Come to class ready to learn and do your personal best! Keep hands and feet to yourself Consequences: Verbal Warning Conference with Teacher Recess Detention Phone Call Home Student/Parent Teacher Conference Office Referral Behavior Expectations &Discipline Policy

  6. Concert Attire • Outfits are required for performances. They are valued at approximately $100.00 • Ladies: • Blue Showchoir dress • Black character shoes • Gentlemen: • Black tux pants and black tux shirt • Black socks and black dance shoes (or soft black dress shoes) • Please let me know should you have any questions or concerns regarding costuming. **Students will be measured in class & costumes ordered through our vendor. Shoes can be purchased by students/parents from any local dance store**

Monday Rehearsals: See handout for dates Time- 2:00pm-3:30pm or 6:30-8:00pm November 2013: 11/5-Disneyland Workshop 11/21-Change of Seasons Concert December 2013: TBA-Elementary School Concert February 2014: TBA-Disneyland’s Community Arts Showcase March 2014: 03/06-District Festival 03/13-Spring Concert May 2014: 05/16-Spring Fling Fund Raiser 05/22-Open House Arts Walk Important Dates To Remember!
