1. ABC Order/Parts of Speech • Write your 20 words in ABC order in your best handwriting. Using a dictionary, look up each word and determine its part of speech. Write the part of speech beside each word: 1. breakfast-noun 2. catch-verb 3. incredible-adjective (adj.) 4. quickly-adverb (adv.)
2. 12 Sentences • Write 12 sentences using at least 1 spelling word in each sentence. You must write 4 statements, 4 questions, and 4 exclamatory sentences. 1. My mother bought bananas at the store. 2. I love eating apple pie! 3. Will you help me slice the melon?
3. Define #1-10 • Define words #1-10 using a dictionary. Some words have multiple definitions. Choose the one definition you would use the most often and write it next to the word on your paper. WordCentral breakfast-the first meal of the day groom-to make neat, attractive, or acceptable

6. Spelling Story Write a story (at least 1 page long) using at least 10 of your spelling words. Be sure to underline the spelling words. Use your imagination and be creative! After school yesterday, I was so hungry I decided to eat an apple. When I opened the refrigerator door and slid the fruit drawer open, an amazing thing happened! As I grabbed the last crisp, red apple, it spoke to me! “Please do NOT eat me! Eat a banana instead!” it begged me as it tried to wriggle free from my grasp. I nearly lost my balance and fell over. Was I imagining things?
