Academic Support • Cool place tutoring program is available during lunch periods Mon-Thurs in the LRC. This will begin after Labor Day. • Homework Help is available throughout the school year. Teachers and peer tutors are available to help with assignments. For the most accurate information, please talk with your teachers. • Testing Center will be available for test make-ups and test re-takes. Dates are still TBD. • Meet with your teacher before or after school for help. Make sure you make an appointment because you will need a pass to be in the halls before or after school. If found in the hall unsupervised and without a pass, you will be stopped by security.
Electronic Devices • All electronic devices must be turned off, secured, and out of sight when you enter school. • Do NOT use your electronic device during the day unless given permission. • Texting is prohibitedeverywhere in the school building. • Failure to comply with this regulation will result in disciplinary action and will result in the confiscation of the device. Also, a parent or guardianwill need to come to school to retrieve it.
Discipline Tardies • 5 minute passing periods – (Don’t go to classroom and ask to go to bathroom – stop on the way because we have a no hall pass policy!) • Talk to your teacher if you truly have problem getting to class on time • Tardiness – 3rd, 4th, 5th tardy – referral to dean, parent contact, detention(s) • 6 tardies to a class = may be dropped from the class and a grade of F is issued • Excessive, cumulative tardies over a period of time or classes within a semester may result in additional disciplinary action! Attendance • It’s important to be at school every day. Excessive absences may result in being dropped from class. • If you can’t be at school, your parents must call you in to the attendance office by 10:30am.
Discipline Continued Dress Code: • The biggest infractions are length of skirts, shorts, tank tops and inappropriate slogans on clothing. Please review your Agenda Book for the details. This will be further reviewed later today as well. I.D • You must have your ID on at all times! Discipline will result if this is not followed. LOSS OF PRIVILEGES • Participation in extracurricular activities is a privilege! • Students who fail to demonstrate responsible behavior and have chosen to violate the school’s discipline code and/or the law may forfeit their privilege to attend or participate in extracurricular school activities on or off campus before, during or after school for one quarter. • Failure to improve behavior may result in continued Loss of Privileges.
Dress Code Highlights Tank tops, halters, one-strap tops, backless shirts, and inappropriate necklines are not permitted. Jackets, coats, hoods, hats, and other headgear should not be worn inside the building. Clothing which promotes alcohol, drugs, sex, violence, or tobacco products or use is prohibited. Shorts and skirts must extend below the fingertips when arms are hanging to the side. All undergarments must be covered by outer attire.

Graduation Requirements • Must earn at least 6 credits per year to stay on track for graduation • Must earn 23.5 credits to graduate – 3 years of Math, 4 years of English, 2 yrs. of Science, 3 credits of P.E. • There are programs available if you fail a class; however, there is a cost for each class.
Activities and Athletics • Activities and Athletics Fair is in the gym this afternoon—Raffle prizes will be given to some lucky students who participate! • Students will have the opportunity to see different athletic, academic, and extra curricular teams/groups that Shepard has to offer. • Get involved-Take pride in your school! Remember…wear school colors on Friday’s! • The Activities Office and Athletic Office can provide up to date activity and sports information. Stop by to see them if you have questions.
