Minerals in lotion • Our skin needs essential minerals in order to retain moisture, so you will find dead sea minerals in the body lotions you use because of their effectiveness to help moisturize your skin. • There are also some other types of butters and minerals found in the contents of lotion. There are a bunch of different types of butter in different kinds of lotion.
Dead Sea Minerals • Function Dead sea minerals nourish skin by keeping it moisturized to renew suppleness and promote easier absorption. They protect skin from free radicals and environmental toxins. • Types The types of dead sea minerals that can be found in body lotions are those such as magnesium, sodium, potassium, bromide, bitumen, chlorine, iodine, calcium and zinc. Magnesium - Magnesium is a metal, but it is also an essential mineral that exists naturally in the body. When magnesium levels in the body are low a magnesium lotion can help raise those levels.

Can you have lotions without all these extra ingredients? • A simple answer would be yes. Most of the extra ingredients in a store bought lotion are natural and non natural preservatives. I found a recipe for a D.I.Y lotion • 1 ¼ cup hot water • ¼ cup Emulsifying wax • ¼ cup olive oil • 24-36 drops of essential oil (scent) • You should notice that it only has 3 ingredients (4th is optional) that is because this is a preservative free lotion that can only last for about 3-4 weeks while store bought lotions can last up to 3 years
