ATAF EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION WORKING GROUP • Role of EoI Working Group: • To develop strategies and products for, and give direction to, the work of • the Exchange of Information Project with regard to: • assisting ATAF members with developing their domestic legal and • regulatory frameworks for transparency and exchange of • information on tax matters; • assisting ATAF members with developing legal mechanisms to • allow for effective cross-border exchange of information; and • enabling tax officials of member countries to build technical capacity to • effectively exchange information with partner countries. • Council’s approval of the 4 EoI products! • Members should implement these to gain maximum • benefit. 2

  4. ESTABLISHMENT OF THE ATAF TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE UNIT Council approved the formation of this new Unit in April 2012. Following up on requests of several ATAF members, the ATAF Secretariat has started to plan the establishment of a Technical Assistance Unit that will respond to member’s requests for support and facilitate technical assistance.
