5. grading • S – Satisfactory (80-100) • NI – Needs Improvement (70 – 79) • U – Unsatisfactory (0 – 69) • Participation is 40% - this is remembering instruments, music, materials, and – obviously – participating in class. • Playing/Written Tests will be 35% - these will be announced quizzes on scales, excerpts from music, etc and will performed privately for the teacher. Written tests apply when students have been working on rhythms, note reading, etc. • Classwork/Concerto Participation will be 25% - the concert is tentatively set for December 12, 2013. This is a Thursday. Please let me know as soon as possible if this conflicts with anything.

Concert dates • The concert is tentatively set for Thursday, December 12, 2013 • Concert dress for ladies is a white dress blouse, black skirt (below the knee), black pants, black dress, and black dress shoes. • Concert dress for gentlemen is a white dress shirt with a dark tie, black dress pants, black dress socks and black dress shoes. • Live broadcasting trial • Please feel free to contact me if this causes an issue of any sort.

7. Important dates • October 8 – 22 Cookie Dough Fundraiser • Saturday, November 9, 2013 – All County Orchestra Auditions @ Whittemore Park MS • Wednesday, November 13, 2013 – Orchestra Picture Day! Wear your FMS Orchestra T-shirt! If you don’t have one, we’ll have some to put on for the picture. • Thursday, December 12, 2013 – Winter Orchestra Concert in the FMS Gym at 7:00. • January 23 – 24 (Thur/Fri) – All County Orchestra @ Myrtle Beach High School • Spring dates TBA: Solo and Ensemble Concert, Spring Concert, Carowinds trip!
