  2. Let’sstartwithReportedSpeech • Whenwe use reportedspeech, we are usuallytakingaboutthepast (becauseobviouslythepersonwhospoke originally spoke in the past). The verbs therefore usually have to be in past too. For example: • Sara: “I’mgoing to the cinema” • Sara said that she was going to the cinema.

  5. Whatabout1st Conditional? • We use thefirstconditionaltotalkaboutactionsorevents in thefuturewhich are likelytohappenorhave a real possibility of happening. Forexample: • If Tara is free tomorrow, I will invite hertodrinksomething.

  6. Remember!!! • IF CLAUSE= IF + SUBJECT( he,she,wethey…)+SIMPLE PRESENT • MAIN CLAUSE= SUBJECT+ WILL+ VERB
