  12. Definition A member of EDTNA/ERCA that is responsible for liaising between the Association and its members of a country

  13. Term of Office This is for a period of three (3) years starting on 1st ending on 31st August

  14. Responsibilities • For all actions performed on behalf of the Associations and for all information given in the name of the Association at a national level • Link between members in the country and the Association • Spread information about Association and its activities in the country • Organize a national seminar or other educational event on behalf of the Association • Translate the newsletter to his/her language • Update information in the KM section on the Association's website

Responsibilities • Provide leadership to volunteers wishing to become active in the Association • Increasing membership of EDTNA/ERCA • Distributing public relation material for EDTNA/ERCA at any national event he/she attends • Attending national meetings as representative of EDTNA/ERCA, if possible with a booth. • Distributing application forms on request • Answering general correspondence • Reminding lapsed members to renew membership

Conference activities • Participating in abstract marking • Chair sessions where appropriate • If organised, prepare, chair and evaluate the Country Meeting • Responsible for obtaining sponsorship for the national Scholarship Awards given at Country Meeting • Prepare Key Member poster • Attend Opening Ceremony, AGM and Closing Ceremony • Help in the EDTNA/ERCA booth / Key Member stand

  17. KM Mentor KM Representative • The Key Member Mentor is the Chair of the Key Membersand will support the Key Members • KM Representative is the link person in the Executive Committee

  18. Entitlement The Key Member is entitled to attend the Annual Conference for freeincluding accommodation and travel depending on his/her activities during the year.

Balance Scorecard Simple performance measurement framework – this helps us to see if performance meet expectations and job descriptions, compensate volunteers according to their performance and help us see if the design processes and activities fulfill our strategically goals. In the BSC every activity you perform gets point. Maximum points to get: 140.

  21. EDTNA/ERCA Definition EDTNA/ERCA is a multi-disciplinary organization of individual members. The Association membership is open to nurses, technicians, social workers, dieticians, unit managers, transplant coordinators, and any other professionals working with renal patients. EDTNA/ERCA is promoting quality in renal care through education, implementation of standards and research in renal care in Europe.

Membership Categories Membership categories with voting rights and able to hold office as elected representatives: • Member - an individual who is resident within Europe and whose work involves care of renal patients. • Lifetime Member - any individual who has made an outstanding contribution to either the Association, or to the advancement of renal care. May be awarded following a unanimous decision of the Executive Committee.

  24. Membership Categories Membership categories with no voting rights and are not able to hold office as elected representatives: • Conference Members - an individual who attended the Annual Conference and have (1) year conference membership status • Global Member - any individual who would otherwise qualify as a Member but who does not live or work in Europe • Corporate Members - any company or other organization that shares the interest of the Association

  25. Secretariat Role • The administrative unit responsible for the day to day workof theAssociation, maintaining records and other secretarial duties. • It services all the volunteers & working groups, based on theP&P. • Rang of duties varies from corresponding with volunteers & members, mediating meeting, flights, paper work, administrating membership fees with the treasurer, election procedures, report before and after meetings, meeting minutes, archiving all associations‘ paper, maintaining inventory an stocks and much more.

  26. Secretariat Coordinator Role • Supervises all the organizational activities and makes sure that they are carried out according to the quality management guidelines and P&P of EDTNA/ERCA. • He/She monitors the Secretariat activities and provides guidanceand education to Main Secretary. • He/she is involved in strategic changes of activities and processes in the Association, updates policies and procedures according to the changing needs of the Association and its activities.

  27. Conference Departement Role • Has overall responsibility to organise, implement and co-ordinate the functions associated with the planning and organisation of EDTNA/ERCA’ annual international conference Over all conference organization & management including: • venue selection and liaison, Online delegate registration, Onsite registration staff & badging payments & fee collection, • preparation of delegate packs, awards and gala dinners, • events organization and project management, Technical and AV support, Exhibition sales & management etc.

  28. Executive Director Role • The EDTNA/ERCA Executive Director is authorised to represent the EDTNA/ERCA in all industry negotiations and third parties concerning the marketing affairs provided in line with the EDTNA/ERCA rules. • Provide strategic advice on development of policies, programme development, corporate relations and marketing activities, collaborations and the overall strategic positioning of the Association.

Publication Aims • Primary goal is to promote education. • Our target audience includes: Multidisciplinary Renal Care professionals, Primary Care sector, Universities, Induction Training of new renal nurses, patients and their families. • The Education Strategy is promoted and developed through the following: • Annual International Conferences & Local EDTNA/ERCA Seminars and Study Days • Collaborations with other Renal Associations • Courses & Publications

Books When a new publication is proposed or launched: • Volunteers are invited to: • Participate in it as chapter’ authors • Translate it to make it available for country members in your languag • Concrete EDTNA/ERCA guidelines to translate, print and distribute them have to be followed. • Local financial sponsorship to print them has to be found. Books are always printed in the same printing house (cheapest option) – Publications Coordinator

  44. Collaborations/agreementswith other associations • European Kidney Helath Alliance (EKHA) • European Network of Renal Care Associations (ENRCA)

  45. A single voice in European Parliament representing thecombinedviews of the renal community • EKHA has been established in 2006 as an Alliance of International Associationswho represent the key stakeholders in kidney health issues in Europe.

  46. EKHA Objectives • Raising awareness of the importance of kidney health and of the need for action to improve the early detection of CKD so that preventative strategies can be introduced to minimize its consequences. • Promoting high standard of care by developing consistent strategies for educating and training through the EU. • Supporting the development of novel strategies and therapeutic approaches for the detection and management of kidney disease through research and its translation into clinical practice.

  47. ENRCA • The Europen Network of Renal Care Associations (ENRCA) was founded by EDTNA/ERCA in 2003. • Objective: To have a strong voice in Europe through education and research. There are 2 main levels of collaboration: Level 1 and Level 2. In addition there are some special collaboration agreements with Nairobi and Brazil. 37 Multidisciplinary Associations have signed a level of collaboration. All of them are published in the web.

  48. ENRCA • The last projects in partnership with some of these Associations were: • A meeting EDTNA/ERCA and these National associations will be held on Sunday to discuss a project for 2012.

  50. Project Group • The establishment of a Project Group is decided by the Executive Committee (EC). • Members may make suggestions for particular projects at the Annual General Meeting. Suggestions for projects may also be sent to Secretariat for submission to the EC. • Once the Executive Committee makes a decision in principal to consider a particular project, a Project Group Chairperson will be appointed by the President.
