  2. Physical Traits • Black, brown, gray, tan, or white fur • They have membrane on both sides To Stretchout to glide.

  3. Behavior Adaptations • To get away from predators quickly the squirrel opens it’s arms and legs and uses it’s membrane as a parachute. • To glide from tree to tree to get food.

  4. Ecosystem / habitat • The flying squirrel lives in woodlands and forests. • Around trees bushes and bird nests to get there food. • Usually around 65°F to 95°F and sometimes rainy.

Diet / food chain • The flying squirrel eats nuts, berries and bird eggs and is a primary consumer. • The flying squirrel gets eaten by cats, coyotes, and raccoons. • The flying squirrel is an omnivore • The flying squirrels niche is to eat berries, nuts and eggs then to be eaten by a coyote, raccoon or a cat
