Optic sulcus • Optic groove • Optic vesicles.
Neuroectoderm. - Retina , Iris , Optic nerve. • Surface ectoderm. - Lens. • Mesoderm. - vascular and fibrous coats of the eye.

Cornea • Surface epithelium- etoderm. • Inner layers – Neural crest cells.
Optic nerve myelination • Incomplete @ birth. • Complete by 10 weeks of life. • Stops off the optic never head.
Eyelids • Fuse by the beginnig of second trimester ( 13-14weeks of embryogenesis). • Remain adherent until about the 26 week of embryogenesis.
