Ethics…..?? It may literally define "good" and "bad" for a community or society.
Introduction and Overview Professionals are expected to badly attached to the ethical and moral principles appropriate to their sphere of operation.
Also they must work within whatever legal frameworks apply to their discipline and the areas in which they work.
Ethical, professional, Social and logical issues are becoming more and more important in I.T.
Developments • Since the mid 1990s a significant number of publications have appeared that address Ethical, Professional,Social and Logical Issues in I.T.
The State of the Software Industry (mid 1990s) • “80 to 90% of IT investments do not meet their performance objectives, the reasons for this are rarely purely technical in origin” (Clegg 1996) • “It is vital that a high proportion of staff involved in software related projects are professionally qualified and that they place high regard to ethics, responsibility and the attainment of quality” (Thompson 1996)
