  3. RESILIENCE OF JOSEPH • Hated by his brethren (Gen. 37:5,8) • His brethren would have killed him if not for the intervention of Reuben (Gen. 37:20-22) • Sold into slavery and taken to Egypt (Gen. 37:26-28) • Thrown into prison in Egypt (Gen. 39:20) • Languished in prison for years (Gen. 41:1)
