  3. Design Process and Concepts • What is already out there? • Brainstorming to meet main customers needs • Waterproof • Durable • Solution • Waterproof – rubber gaskets • Durability- ABS plastic • Models created using 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) software

Testing and Results • Develop testing criteria to ensure customer needs were met • Pass / fail criteria • Waterproof testing • Finite analysis for durability • Finite Element Analysis • Thickness should be at least 0.2 inches • Gives a Factor of Safety of 2 • Waterproofing test • Shock collar case passed • GPS did not

  5. Next Steps • Improve box prototype • Different machining method • Machining ABS block • Edit the “sliced” STL file for 3D printing • Improve gasket • Different gasket material • Compressible rubber foam vs. hard rubber
