ACTIVITIES-2006 AWARDS AND RECOGNITIONS a) IEEE AES-COM-LEO-Society Chapter – India Council has been awarded the Asia/Pacific Region 2006 Chapter Achievement Award for achieving excellence in chapter activities and contribution made in furthering the objective of the IEEE Communication Society. IEEE AEROSPACE and ELECTRONIC SYSTEM SOCIETY honors India Council AESS Chapter as the Outstanding Chapter of Region for activities in the year 2005 b) The Chapter Chair has been nominated as: Governors for IEEE AESS Board of Governors for 2006-09 from the excellent slate of international candidates. Chairman IEEE AESS India. Member of the IEEE AESS Education Committee. Member of ASC of APCC. Associated Secretary General for Asia Electronics and Information Communication Union. Member – Technical Program Committee for ICC 2007 GS (ICC 2007 General Symposium). Member Editorial Board of Technical Review, for IETE Journal "Technical Review". Member Editorial Board – The Open Aerospace Journal – Bentham Science Publishers. Reviewer to IEEE Communications Magazine.
ACTIVITIES-2006 During the year, following activities were held: Events with the sponsorship from the Parent IEEE Society Events in association with Local Government supports. Events in association with Industry Individuals’ events organized with Local Professional bodies and others. Promotional activities. (Details of all the activities mentioned above are available in the Major Technical activities report 2006.)
ACTION POINTS FOR CONSIDERATION TO RCCC RCCC may consider the following: a) The participation fee in the conferences being supported by ComSoc is becoming unaffordable day by day specially by the academicians and students. b) ComSoc may consider GLOBECOM-2011 to be held in India. c) Selection and participation of DLT’s from Developing Countries. d) ComSoc may consider outsourcing some of services in developing countries wherever there is substantial cost savings. This will penetrate IEEE name in TRADE WING OF THE COUNTRY
