Lowest funded in Taunton. • Cut to Capital spending: last year- £168k this year -£25k • Budget for next year- £30k left for school improvement
An Academy - advantages • A different kind of academy from the ‘old-style’ • 10% funding that currently stays with the Local Authority will come directly to The Castle School. • £539pp extra in first year • Freedom to spend the money we get on what we think is important for the children at The Castle School. • Buy the best, most cost effective services for our pupils. • We can still put money into the ‘pot’ /buy in with the LA but have a greater say in quality and choice if the provision is not good enough. • Partnership with primary schools to improve learning and achievement of all our pupils. Partnership with other secondary schools for mutual benefit.
