Year in Review • 2018 was a mixed year for the company in terms of overall performance • The company brought down full year losses on a consolidated level but the standalone business saw net profit grow • Group EBITDA was up 36% from last year • Mukta a2 cinemas saw revenue grow 25% from a comparable business last year • Mukta a2 cinemas now has 58screens across all holdings • Whistling Woods International saw revenues grow 17% and posted healthy EBITDA figures and Net Profit numbers • Number of students now crossing 1,100 as per July 2018
Mukta a2 cinemas • The company posted moderate EBITDA but saw good topline growth • Footfalls grew to 40.13 Lacs from 36.58 Lacs for the year • Screens saw consolidation and re-positioning for better long term profitability • Asian JV added 7 screens till date taking the total in the business to 9 • Sun City in Vile Parle opened to give the company a better Tier 1 presence • New ad deal with UFO now in place to help lift bottom line • Bahrain business has seen stronger performance from innovative pricing and social media engagement • Exhibition screens consolidated and further expansion will now continue at pace • New launches at Karimnagar, Ahmedabad, Pune, Nainital, Bhilai and Shamsabad
Whistling Woods International • WWI continues to build academic reputation with strong financial performance • As per July, campus now has 1,150 students with new intake 383 across 13 programs • WWI tied up with Reliance Jio for foray into VR education with the WWI-Jio VR Lab which has commenced operations • WWI will host CLECT Congress in November which will be the first time the prestigious event has come to India • New programs and Campus extensions being explored to leverage brand • Virtual Academy re-launch in November 2018 • WWI Legal case moving positively. Strong goodwill with existing govt being built to help finalize a settlement.
Key Initiatives for this year • Film slate being re-developed leveraging IP and new projects. Discussions on-going • Television content being developed and all major broadcasters in discussions • Digital platforms discussions for new projects positive, various opportunities open • Regional content potential large. New Marathi vertical team under Suresh Pai engaged • Events and Stage Shows being explored to further unlock IP • Progress on Bandra Properties redevelopment on-going
