Shutdown 2012 Machine Status: LINAC – Operational for NTF (3 days a week) TeV & Muon Rings – Partially available for tours with approval and appropriate training Site is currently being powered from Kautz Road SubStation Power Outages: • Tuesday, July 10th Feeder 49 – 0730-1730 Impacts: D0 Assembly Building and Collision Hall • Tuesday, July 17th Feeder 38 – 0700-1530 Impacts: CHL will be off

  3. Shutdown 2012 Power/Cooling/Computer Outage: • Friday, July 20th @ 0700 • The Accelerator Division Computer Room will be powered down for 3 days for UPS upgrade work. Spot coolers will be added to Computer Room, MAC Room, MCR, and UPS work area. No controls, system or device monitoring available during this period. • Saturday, July 21st @ 0700 until Sunday, July 22nd @ 1700 • Power and utility maintenance at Central Utility Building (CUB). This will remove cooling from all comfort and process cooling systems fed from CUB. This includes all the accelerators, Cross Gallery, LINAC, Booster Gallery & Towers, Transfer Gallery, and Wilson Hall. Notes: WH5NW, WH8-FC, Telecom, Dispatch will get cooling from the 90 ton chiller in Wilson Hall. CMS Remote Control Room has its own cooling. • Monday, July 23rd@ 0700 • Start up AD Controls system.

  4. Shutdown 2012 Power Outages Continued: • Tuesday, July 24th Feeder 43 – 0730-1530 Impacts: Transfer Gallery • Tuesday, July 25th Feeder 43 – 0730-1530 Impacts: Switchyard, G2, FCC Switch off

  5. Shutdown 2012 Power Curtailment: • We have a contract with Energy Curtailment Specialists • June 1st – September 30th • Firm Service Level Contract – Site below 25MW • We can have 10 events, up to 6 hours each. • Test usually happens in August, will probably occur in June this year. • Will not need to reduce power as in the past. Most accelerators are off. We will monitor levels.
