Introduction to Religions 5 – Categories of Religion Monotheism – belief in one God Polytheism – belief in more than one God Non-theistic – does not worship a God Atheism – belief in no existence of a spiritual world Animism – worship of nature spirits Proselytize – to convert someone to your belief or religion
Judaism Studies the TORAH T – The Torah The Jewish Holy Bookcontains the “Law and the Prophets” Christians include the Torah as the first part of the Old Testament This contains the first 5 books of the Bible (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy)
