  3. Benefits of an ASP • Never buy software again • Eliminate customization, maintenance, and support costs • Rent applications not buy • Large upfront expenses are eliminated • Access to applications from anywhere • Applications and services are centralized

  4. Concerns with an ASP • Is the ASP solvent • Should it go out of business is your data lost • Service Level Agreement • Network speed, application performance, customer service • Security considerations • Data is accessed over the Internet • Passwords, encryption, firewalls, authentication

  5. Likely candidate for an ASP • Technology solution needed faster than it can be built • Lack of IT resource to implement project • Prefer a fixed monthly cost as opposed to a large capital outlay • Lack of resources to provide 365/24/7 service
