Tennis • Tennis director: Andrea Barnes • Associate pros: Ann Henricksson, Whitney Deason • Participation/revenue up 40% over 2007 • 80+ regular players, many other social players • EPATT women’s doubles league participant club • Hosted 4 club tennis mixers • Weekly Cardio tennis workout • Supervised men’s and women’s drop in play • Hosted 11 adult teams in USTA league play…our largest number ever.

  7. Tennis • Juniors • 120 juniors in clinics, 60 in team program. Over 25 jrs. participated in Norcal tournament play in 08. • One of only two Peninsula clubs fielding USTA Norcal Junior League teams in all divisions. • Midpeninsula Junior Interclub League co-champions • Ballkids team chosen to work final matches at the SAP Open, semifinals of Bank of the West Tennis Championship. • SCRA kids chosen to demonstrate skills at USPTA Norcal coaching conference

SCRA + USA Swimming = Success! • PASA-USA team • >800 athletes, 220 participants at SCRA site • Held number even with pool changes and movement • ~60% swimmers at SCRA site are SCRA members • Gold Medal Club in 2009 (ranked 8th in the Nation) • Silver Medal Club in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008. • SCRA-Summer team • 125 athletes • Avery pool available for championship meet • SCRA-Swim lessons • ~300 children participated…growing • Year round private lessons

  17. Membership Changes • Initiation fee reduction to $1,000 for:Newly hired assistant professors or staff Current assistant professors until end of 2008 • Increase in monthly dues from: Regular members: $85 to $110 Emeriti members: $42.50 to $85 • Membership cap removed

Background • Founded on January 9,1962 • $60,000 loan from Stanford @ 4.5% interest • Mission is to “provide a swimming pool, tennis courts, and allied recreational facilities for its members…” • Eligible members are “persons who are eligible to own residences on the Stanford University campus…” • Non-profit mutual benefit corporation • 160 members, now unlimited

  25. Renovation • $2M loan from University, $2.5M grant from provost • Replace and expand current clubhouse • 2050 sf to 3050 sf • Secure entrance, ADA compliant • Offices, storage space • Multipurpose room, fitness area • Expanded locker rooms and bathrooms
