NERA/REAKT Workshop Zürich March 19-20, 2013 ______________________________________________________________________________ Objectives NERA-NA5 will create a pan-European network of near-fault observatoriescapable of sustainingfuture researchof faulting and fault systems and the hazardstheygenerate. Collaborate in sharing of technological and scientificexperience and know-how betweenthe observatories; Achievesynergies in operations and monitoring; Establishand maintain common qualitystandards; Generate a common archive of near-fault observational data usingsharedprotocols, standardsand qualitycontrol.

Or may be… We can advise to the whole scientific community (EPOS?) about the importance of RIs characterised by the availability of multi-sensors networks generating high-resolution data.

Or may be… We can advise to the whole scientific community (EPOS?) about the importance of RIs characterised by the availability of multi-sensors networks generating high-resolution data. WHY? Because we believe NFOs are the vehicles to make possible state of the art fundamental research or to run/test new investigation techniques.

The goal of EPOS is to promote and makepossible innovative approaches for a betterunderstanding of the physicalprocessescontrollingearthquakes, volcaniceruptions, unrest episodes and tsunamisaswellasthosedrivingtectonics and Earth surfacedynamics. Integration of the existingnational and trans-nationalRIswillincreaseaccess and use of the multidisciplinary data recorded... At the same time, please, correct me if I am wrong, the majority of the Institutions managing our Ris, are already within EPOS.
