TEI P5: Basic Markup: Table of Contents • <head>: (heading) contains any heading, for example, the title of a section, or the heading of a list or glossary. • <list type=“simple”>: contains any sequence of items organized as a list. • <item>: contains one component of a list. • <ref>: defines a pointer/link to another location in the current document
TEI P5: Basic Markup: Notes (Footnotes, Endnotes, etc.) Notes in a text can appear inline, as footnotes or endnotes. Regardless of how the notes appear, the mechanisms for encoding notes are the same (or can be standardized by the use of “place” attribute) • <note>: contains a note or annotation. • @xml:id • @rend • @target (use only if supporting bi-directional linking) • @place (e.g., top, foot, end, inline, etc.) • <ref>: defines a reference to another location in the current document. • @xml:id • @rend • @target
