What is SCAP? • Site Cleanup Assistance Program • Started in 2006 to remediate Oklahoma National Guard armories and orphan sites • Program Goal: to remediate armories and return to the local community for unlimited use
Environmental Assessments • DEQ performs a Targeted Brownfield Assessment – includes soil and indoor firing range (IFR) lead sampling • DEQ consultant provide inspection reports • Lead contaminated dust (from IFR) • Asbestos • Lead-based paint

Building Remediation • Asbestos abatement • Remediation of lead contaminated dust • Removal and backfill of contaminated soil from IFR • Lead-based paint abatement • Doors, windows, down spouts (most costly)

Armory Remediation Goals • Remove and dispose of sand in bullet trap area • High levels of lead contaminated dust tracked and settled throughout armories • IFR cleanup goal of below 200 ug/SF • Armory cleanup goal of 40 ug/SF
