Application Demonstration HUG-MI
Results • Accomplishments: • Delivered application on-time, within budget • All expected functionality delivered • HAB performed as expected / desired • Challenges • New version of HAB – product installation issues • Licensing / Legal issues • Performance was initially an issue – addressed with upgraded hardware (i.e. – more memory) HUG-MI
Results - Benefits of using HAB for HQ G&A • Simplified business process • Less manual handling of data • Simplified technical architecture • Direct, real time access to Essbase database • No longer moving data to mainframe for reporting • Lower maintenance requirements • Reduced support staff cost due to flexibility, simpler architecture • Web based solution, uses standard DCX architecture • Low risk of obsolescence • No software downloaded to client • Any standard browser can access • No delays for download, desktop configuration, software load HUG-MI
Follow Up • HQ G&A was global pilot project for HAB at DCX • Result of pilot: HAB has been approved as an IT Global Standard at DCX • Knowledge sharing with other DCX organizations • Reviewing HAB v2.5 as possible tool for creation of a generic web-interface for all DCX – Global Finance Essbase applications • Write-back capability developed – pending customer approval for deployment HUG-MI
