  6. Night Market (夜市- ye4 shi4)Night markets are a huge part of Taiwanese culture. They are markets in the street filled with countless things to buy from Taiwanese cuisines to cheap, yet fashionable clothing. As indicated from its name, night markets usually operate and are most crowded at night. Night markets are all over Taiwan and provide a unique aspect of Taiwanese customs and culture.

  7. 石林夜市(shi1lin2ye4shi4) Perhaps the most famous night market in all of Taiwan is located in the Shilin District of Taipei, Taiwan.

  8. xíng tiān gōng 行天宮 Xing Tian Gong is a Daoist temple that sits in the heart of the modern and well-developed city of Taipei.. Xing Tian Gong is a unique Daoist temple full of activity for the common person that characterizes the folk religious practices of Daoism in Taiwan. In the courtyard before entering the temple, one can already observe that this is a place for all people. The people heading in and out are from all walks of life young and old, professionals and workers, men and women. Just to the side of the entrance is where this mosaic of Taiwanese people first cross paths in a water room where one can wash fruits and other offerings before heading inside.

Tái běi Gù gōng 台 北 故 宫 Bó wù yuàn博 物 院 Taiwan’s National Palace Museum is a collection of painting and calligraphy, rare books and historical documents, and antiquities displayed in the form of permanent and special exhibitions. It has a permanent collection of over 677,687 pieces of ancient Chinese artifacts and artworks, making it one of the largest in the world. The collection encompasses over 8,000 years of Chinese history from the Neolithic age to the late Qing Dynasty. Most of the collection are high quality pieces collected by China's ancient emperors. In 2009, it was the 11th most visited art museum in the world.

  10. Tái běi yī líng yī台 北 一 零 一 Taipei 101 was opened to the public on December 31, 2004. On December 15, 2004, Toshiba installed the world's two fastest elevators. With top speeds of 1010 m/min, observation deck visitors can whiz from Level B1 to 89 in 39 seconds. A 900-ton tuned mass damper is installed on the 87th floor to counter earthquakes and typhoons. It will be available for public viewing from the restaurant levels and observation deck.Taipei 101 was the world's tallest building from 2004 to 2010. Fireworks launched from Taipei 101 feature prominently in international New Year's Eve broadcasts and the structure appears frequently in travel literature and international media.
